This study examines the perception of victims of domestic violence within “traditional” and “non-traditional” gay and heterosexual couples. Researchers manipulated physical appearance and gender roles of the victim and offender. Results suggest that the perception of a “traditional relationship” is different for homosexual couples versus heterosexual couples, but that these roles still matter.
