Within the menstrual cycle literature, research has examined the impact of the menstrual cycle on women’s risky activities. However, findings have been mixed. To address this question, the meta-analysis we conducted revealed robust shifts across the menstrual cycle in women’s sexual behavior and risk recognition and avoidance, whereas patterns were less clear for alcohol/cigarette consumption.
