A recently developed computer based avatar task predicts behavioral inhibition. We tested this task with distressed (Type D) personality type, which is measured with the DS14 scale, including two subscales: negative affect (NA) and social inhibition (SI). Using scores on the avatar task, we were also able to differentiate Type D and SI individuals, but not NA individuals.
