We assessed the visual numeric estimation of Black and White targets in large (10 x 10) arrays after brief presentation (500 ms). Arrays varied in race ratio composition from 25:75, 50:50, and 75:25 targets (Black:White). Across three studies, participants’ over-estimated the number of Black compared to White targets for groups where Black targets were equal to or outnumbered White targets.
