This study examined the influence of power on romantic relationship processes. In a sample of married middle-aged adults, we found that for those who reported greater relationship difficulties, greater power was associated with higher ratings of current and future relationship satisfaction, and higher engagement in joint decision-making when individuals were high in relationship commitment.
