Two studies supported a positive relationship between self-compassion and gratitude. In a first study, self-compassion predicted higher levels of trait gratitude, even after controlling for related variables (e.g., Big Five). In a second study, practicing a self-compassionate perspective (vs. control) lead to higher feelings of state gratitude.
