I am a graduate student student at UBC. I received a B.A. in psychology from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in 2016. My research examines the effects of stereotyping and prejudice with a particular focus on women’s experiences in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields. Specifically, I am interested in understanding how gender biases shape social interactions between men and women in highly collaborative settings, and how the quality of these social interactions predicts success and retention. I am also interested in how one’s identification with a domain or social group can influence everyday experiences of authenticity.
