Athena Aktipis, PhD., is an Assistant Professor in the Psychology Department at Arizona State University and Co-Director of the Human Generosity Project. Her work on the applications of cooperation theory to human sharing, cancer, infectious disease and obesity have been covered in the New York Times, National Public Radio, and Newsweek.  Dr. Aktipis is the author of the forthcoming book from Princeton University Press, "Evolution in the flesh: Cancer and the transformation of life."
